CARLISLE — Police in Carlisle are investigating two intentionally set fires on Sunday and are asking for help in identifying a person of interest.

Carlisle Police responded to the Comfort Suites on South Hanover Street at 5:06 p.m. Sunday for a report of a small fire. It was found that an unknown person lit a sign on fire at the rear of the property. The fire was determined to be intentionally set, police said.

Shortly afterward, at 5:30 p.m., police and the Carlisle Fire Department were called to the parking garage on West Pomfret Street for a trash can fire. There, police said, the trash can was intentionally set on fire and, a smoke detector in a stairwell was damaged. Damage was estimated at $500.

Police released surveillance photos of the area and wish to speak to a person of interest. Anyone who can identify the man is asked to call police at 717-243-5252.
