A 17-year-old boy from Mechanicsburg died after a crash Friday evening in Perry County, police reported Wednesday.
State Police at Newport did not name the driver who died.
There were no passengers.
The boy was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta at 9:41 p.m. in the 3000 block of Valley Road in Rye Township, police said.
The Jetta partially left the road at a left curve and hit a downed tree.

The impact caused the Jetta to rotate 90 degrees clockwise, completely leaving the road, hitting a utility pole, and overturning.
It stopped on its roof.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries, police said.
The Perry County coroner, Shermans Dale Fire and EMS, and Lehman’s Towing assisted at the scene.
