A Mercersburg man was charged with attempted homicide after an incident that was followed by a standoff in Franklin County Saturday.
Pennsylvania State Police said Brenton Todd Wrights, 47, was charged with attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple assault after an incident around 7 p.m. Saturday in the 14000 block of Dutchtown Road, Peters Township.
Police said Wrights got into an argument with a woman, and as she was driving away, he fired at least one shot with a long gun at her vehicle, striking it.
Wrights then barricaded himself in his home, police said.
The State Police Special Emergency Response Team was activated and responded to the scene. Wrights was taken into custody without incident at 2:20 a.m. Sunday.
Bail was denied, and Wrights remains in Franklin County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Feb. 20.
