A cow in the road caused a collision in Monroe Township Wednesday night, State Police at Carlisle said. 

A 1998 Volvo S70 was traveling south on Boiling Springs Road in Monroe Township when a cow entered the road in front of the vehicle, police said. The unnamed driver saw the cow but was unable to stop before hitting the animal, causing minor damage to the Volvo "and minor damage to the cow," according to police.

The driver was wearing her seat belt and was uninjured, police said. Her vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.

The cow was corralled back into a nearby field.
