Police and the Cumberland County Coroner's Office are investigating the death of an inmate at State Correction Institution at Camp Hill Wednesday.
The state Department of Corrections reported that an officer was performing a security round Wednesday when he noticed Brendan Alan Weaver, 28, previously of Ephrata, hanging from the top bunk.
The department said CPR was administered by security until the medical staff arrived, and CPR was continued until Lower Allen EMS arrived.
Weaver was pronounced dead at 2:57 a.m., and the coroner's office and Pennsylvania State Police were notified, according to the department. The official cause of death has yet to be determined, and police are investigating the incident.
Weaver was serving a one-and-a-half to four-year sentenced for burglary out of Lancaster County. He had been at SCI Camp Hill since June 14, the department said.
