Kelvin Monica-Reyes

Shippensburg Borough Police are looking for Kelvin Monica-Reyes in connection with the abduction of his daughter.

The 7-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert Thursday night was found safe later that night. Her father has been charged with kidnapping and other charges and is being held without bail in Cumberland County Prison.

Shippensburg Borough Police charged Kelvin Mojica-Reyes with kidnapping, burglary, unlawful restraint of a minor, false imprisonment, criminal trespass and simple assault after the incident, which began with a call to police at 4:44 p.m. Thursday.

Police said they were dispatched to an apartment in the 300 block of North Fayette Street for a reported domestic dispute. A witness at the scene told police that a man, later identified as Mojica-Reyes, forced a woman and child into a vehicle.

An Amber Alert was issued by the Pennsylvania State Police for the victims, Kayla Delrosario, 7, and Darlene Danesa Rijo-Aquino, 28, as well as the white Toyota Corolla which Mojica-Reyes was driving.

The victims were found unharmed later that evening, and Mojica-Reyes was taken into custody by the Pennsylvania State Police at Chambersburg. He was taken to Cumberland County Prison, and arraigned on multiple charges.

According to docket sheets, he was denied bail because it is the only way to protect the victims and to keep Mojica-Reyes from fleeing.

A protection from abuse order against Mojica-Reyes which protected both the mother and her child had been issued through Franklin County on Wednesday. The order stated that the suspect was not to have contact with either victim.
