A Carlisle man faces homicide charges in the death of his 10-week-old daughter.

Jason Bugajski, 31, was charged with criminal homicide, aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a child younger than 13, endangering the welfare of children and recklessly endangering another person after the girl’s death in March.

State Police at Carlisle said they and Cumberland Goodwill EMS responded to a home in the 200 block of Bonnybrook Road in South Middleton Township at 7:13 a.m. March 28 for a report of an infant in distress. Police said advanced medical attention was needed, and the girl was transported to UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle, where she was pronounced dead by emergency room physicians.

It was determined that the infant suffered recent physical injuries, and an autopsy confirmed further internal injuries, according to police.

Police said they interviewed Bugajski, and he admitted to shaking the infant violently, causing the injuries.

Bugajski was transported to Cumberland County Prison and arraigned Thursday morning in front of Magisterial District Judge Kathryn Silcox. Bail was denied since the case is a homicide.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10 in front of Magisterial District Judge Susan Day.
