A new Italian restaurant opened Tuesday in downtown Carlisle.
PB’s Italian Kitchen, at 204 N. Hanover St., is owned by Philip Joppy, who is operating the restaurant with the help of his family.
Joppy has 22 years of culinary experience including service as the catering chef at Lebanon Valley College and as the sous chef at Rock Bass Grill.
The menu features signature dishes such as the steak salad, which is made with mixed greens, tomato, onions, peppers, shaved prime rib, cheddar cheese, rosemary and topped with french fries. Joppy also pointed to a prime rib cheesesteak grinder, the PB’s Italian Kitchen Burger and the Alexander BBQ Chicken Sub as featured dishes along with the Alexandria Sriracha sandwich with shredded chicken, sriracha teriyaki glaze, candied bacon, coleslaw and pickled shallots on a brioche roll.
The restaurant is open 10:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and from 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“It’s a very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere,” Joppy said. “It’s our family.”
The restaurant is at the site of the former Locker Room Sports Cafe, which closed in 2005 after 30 years in business. A series of restaurants have occupied the site since then.
