Harrisburg Pike in Middlesex Township reopens after truck fire

A section of Route 11 in Middlesex Township has reopened after a tractor-trailer fire that closed the highway in both directions Friday morning.

Route 11 was closed northbound and southbound between Middlesex Road and Country Club Road. The highway reopened before 10 a.m.

CARLISLE – A tractor-trailer fire has closed a section of Route 11 in both directions in Middlesex Township.

Route 11 is closed northbound and southbound between Middlesex Road and Country Club Road.

The fire is near the Petro stopping center in the 1100 block of Route 11, locally known as Harrisburg Pike, according to Cumberland County’s emergency management agency.

The fire is also impacting traffic exiting Interstate 81 at Middlesex and on the Pennsylvania Turnpike exit 226.
