After announcing it earlier this year, Carlisle CARES said Thursday it has officially change its name to Community CARES. The nonprofit said the new name better reflects what it does and who it cares for in its mission to provide emergency shelter, resources and services to those experiencing homelessness.
“We have had more people contributing to the cause in so many different ways, allowing us to focus more on the needs of our resident clients,” board president Brad Griffie said in a news release. “This is also allowing us to focus on the future, to develop more efficient and more inclusive ways to assist with all of those who are homeless and need our help.”
The board of directors for the nonprofit also announced they have selected Beth Kempf as the new executive director, replacing founder Shari Bellish. Kempf has served as the interim director for the last three months and previously served as the program director.
