Carlisle Borough said residents shouldn't worry about the loud "blasting" noises Wednesday evening that motivated several people to call for information.
"We’ve received several reports of loud noises occurring towards the northwest end of the borough," the borough said in an 8 p.m. Facebook post Wednesday. "We were just informed that these sounds were coming from an event at the Carlisle Armory off of Cavalry Road. There is no need for alarm."
The post has attracted more than 60 comments from Facebook users who were wondering what happened, some of whom said it shook their windows and scared pets.
The armory, located in North Middleton Township, is used by the Pennsylvania National Guard.
