State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash on Interstate 83 south in Shrewsbury Township, York County, Friday morning.
The crash closed the southbound lanes between Exit 8 for Glen Rock and Exit 4 for Shrewsbury.
Police said a Toyota Rav4 driven by Nikhill Dev, 43, from York, was traveling south on I-83 about 8:56 a.m. when Dev lost control of the vehicle and hit the rear of a GMC Sierra.
Police said the Rav4 crashed into the center median. Nikhil Dev and his passenger, Madhura Dev, 38, of York, were transported by ambulance from the scene to York Hospital for treatment.
Police said the operator of the GMC Sierra, Alesander Alicea, 40, of Colonial Beach, Virginia, could not control his truck and it collided with an embankment, causing the truck to overturn.
Police said a passenger in the GMC Sierra, Namitha Alicea , 41, of Colonial Beach, Virginia, was ejected from the vehicle as well as a dog.
Both were declared dead on scene. Alesander Alicea was transported from the scene by ambulance to York Hospital for treatment.
