Toomey-Town Hall

Pennsylvania’s U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey answers a question from Nancy Rohrbaugh, of Dillsburg, during an hourlong question-and-answer session in the studios of WHTM-TV in July 2017.

WHTM, ABC27 News, Tuesday announced it will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday for its expanded office space and new production studio in the 3200 block of Hoffman Street in Harrisburg.

The station, owned by Nexstar Broadcasting, said the $3 million investment project will upgrade all aspects of the newsroom and technical infrastructure.

The new studio is expected to launch this fall and will feature the latest production resources and equipment, including high-definition cameras, advanced weather technology and modern on-air graphics, as well as other enhancements, the company said.

The building expansion will also affect studio space for the weekly political affairs program, “This Week in Pennsylvania,” and ABC27 said it plans to expand its daily lifestyle show, “Good Day PA,” from a half hour to one hour, showcasing local businesses, nonprofits, community leaders and culinary experts.
