Three Cumberland County municipalities are among 70 in the state that will receive more than $31 million to support traffic signal upgrades, according to Gov. Tom Wolf's office.
Wolf announced the funding Thursday from PennDOT's "Green Light-Go" program that reimburses municipalities for updates to improve efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals.
Carlisle Borough will receive $139,385 for the modernization of a traffic signal at High Street and Orange Street, including upgrading poles to mast arms and upgrading to infrared detection.
Silver Spring Township will receive $82,939 for LED replacement at 24 intersections.
Mechanicsburg Borough will receive $78,581 to modernize 10 traffic signals in the downtown, including signal re-timing implementation, LED replacement and traffic signal controller upgrades.
