Try This ‘heart Attack’ Craft For Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is the perfect holiday for letting the special people in your life know you care. And spreading the love doesn’t have to be relegated to romantic partners only. It’s also a great time to tell your kids how much you love them.

One cute way to express your love for your children this Valentine’s Day is to create a “heart attack.” No, it’s not the kind that will land you in the hospital. Instead, consider doing what Cindy Hopper from Skip To My Lou did and cut hearts out of construction paper, writing nice comments and messages on them about why you love your children so much.

You can then affix one to your child’s door every day from February 1 on, leading up to Valentine’s Day on February 14. What a creative and cute way to let your kids know how special they are!

So cute! Hopper even offers a free printable heart template. You can print the template out on card stock, cut out hearts and then trace them on different-colored construction paper. Or you could print straight onto colored card stock.

Looking for even more fun ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day with your kids? How about a Bee Mine Valentine? This heart-shaped bumblebee is super-easy to make and can serve as a holiday decoration or as a Valentine to give away to a special friend. Maybe your little one will even want to gift it to Mom or Dad! Get the directions from From ABCs to ACTs.

Another great option are these rainbow heart suncatchers made from colorful tissue paper and glue. These pretty decorations can be made in five easy steps, and are great for hanging on your child’s window. Sunlight will filter into their room in the most beautiful way! And although they’re perfect for Valentine’s Day, I think these would also make for a great year-round decoration. Get the how-to from Fireflies and Mudpies.
