This year we worked with 34 photographers in 29 states to shoot 7,597 original photos for 42 weekly issues of Feast and Field. Not all of these fantastic images end up published, so our creative director Heather sorted through the heap and hand-selected this collection of unseen favorites.

Unseen - Seylou

Seylou Bakery & Mill owner Jonathan Bethony and bakers John Derry and Eli Pipkin greet the sunrise in Washington, D.C.'s Shaw district. Photo by Ryan Donnell.

Unseen - White Oak

We were focused on turkey while visiting White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, Georgia, but their Farmer John burger with greens, bacon, grilled onion, fried egg, American cheese and housemade rosemary garlic aioli is tough to forget. Photo by Alex Workman.

Unseen - Mouzin Brothers

On a toasty day in June we visited Mouzin Brothers Farms to sample the best in watermelon. What better way to take in the beauty of the southern Indiana countryside than with a drone shot? Photo by Zach Straw.

Unseen - Tad Goodrich

We usually publish all color photography, but this black and white edit of salmon fisher Tad Fujioka in Sitka, Alaska, really spoke to us. Photo by Bethany Goodrich.

Unseen - 17th Street Barbecue

Illinois’ legendary 17th Street Barbecue carries some punny merch, including this pint glass that gave our staff a chuckle. Get yours here! Photo by Zach Straw.

Unseen - Wilson's Orchard

Each season, Wilson’s Orchard & Farm in Iowa City opens its gates so families can take part in the harvest and pick their own apples. Photo by Kathryn Gamble.

Unseen - Oxbow

We love these detail shots of Oxbow Cattle Company's Wendy and Bart Morris after they geared up to ride and work the ranch. Photos by Rebecca Stumpf.

Unseen - Fat Head Farms

The bulldogs of Fat Head Farms — Pork Chop, Harley and Queen — had a great time chasing the drone flying overhead during our shoot. Photo by Brad Iwen.
