Shawn T. Trostle, age 46 of Carlisle, passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at his home. He was born Saturday, April 8, 1972 in Carlisle, the son of Roger F. and Tamara L. (Tanger) Trostle of Westerville, OH.
Shawn graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in 1990. He was employed by Meadowbrook Gourds in Carlisle since the opening of the business. Shawn taught classes at the farm and his charismatic personality made him a great teacher. Shawn was a great outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming. He loved to garden and was a very talented artist. His love of animals led him to raise chickens, goats, turkeys, steers and many different pets.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Amanda T. and husband Jake Bronneck of Boiling Springs, paternal grandparents, Clair and Joan Trostle of New Oxford and Maternal Grandfather, Guy L. Tanger of York Springs. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother Nadine Tanger who passed in 2018.
Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. A Celebration of Shawn’s life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Friday, March 15 at The Barn (Strock Enterprises), 729 Williams Grove Rd., Mechanicsburg with Rev. Michael Seifried offering opening remarks at 1:00 PM.
