Ralph A. "Jessie" Stoll, 85, of 23 E. Pine St., Mt. Holly Springs, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, in his home.

Born April 27, 1919, in Mechanicsburg, he was a son of the late William and Grace (Greegor) Stoll.

Mr. Stoll was a retired employee of the former Kimberly-Clark Corp. and a Navy Aviation veteran of World War II.

He played and managed baseball for more than 30 years and was inducted into the South Central Hall of Fame on Nov. 6, 1986. He also had a baseball field named after him on Mill Street in Mt. Holly Springs.

He was a member of the Mt. Holly Springs Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Mechanicsburg Club, White Circle Lodge 1, Eagles Aerie 1299, and Mt. Holly Springs American Legion 674.

Mr. Stoll is survived by his wife of 66 years, Harriet March Stoll; a son, Gerald M. Stoll of Mt. Holly Springs; two daughters, Lucy S. Bistline and Trudy S. Stamy, both of Carlisle; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Ethel Cruttenden, and a brother, Ross Greegor.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Hollinger Funeral Home and Crematory, 501 N. Baltimore Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, with the Rev. Michael Lozano officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Monroe Township.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Holly Springs Baseball Association to maintain Stoll Field, c/o Michael Lear, 21 Trine Ave., Mt. Holly Springs, PA 17065.
