Lonnie L. McKillip, 51, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at his home. He was born on September 20, 1967 in Carlisle and is the son of Naomi K. (Stimeling) McKillip Krom and her husband, Steven Krom of Carlisle and the late Alonzo Lee McKillip. Lonnie graduate from Big Spring High School, Newville with the class of 1986, and was currently employed with Middlesex Township’s Public Works Department. He was formerly employed with Black’s Landscaping. Lonnie has served 34 years as volunteer fire fighter with the North Middleton Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. 39 where he was the Deputy Fire Chief and Trustee. Lonnie was a member of Eagles Aerie 1299 and the Moose Family Center both of Carlisle. Lonnie enjoyed NASCAR. In addition to his mother and her husband, he is survived by his wife of 16 years, Annette M. (Morrison) McKillip, three sons; Lonnie L. (Anne Marie) McKillip, II of Newville, Andrew A. (Brittany) Benner of Shermansdale and Cody A. (Sierra) Crawford of Carlisle, one daughter, Amber M. Benner of Carlisle, one sister, Laurie K. (David) Mellott of Boiling Springs, his Golden Retriever buddy, Teddy, 8 grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Lonnie was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Dean McKillip. A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019 followed by funeral services at 3:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Jan Hughes officiating. Light refreshments will be served following the service at the Empire-Friendship Fire Co. 45, 177 Spring Rd, Carlisle.
