James Michael Ruhl, 37, of Carlisle, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at West Shore Hospital.
Born on October 30, 1981, in Carlisle, PA, he was the son of Mark and Shirley Ruhl. James was a graduate of Carlisle High School, University of Pittsburgh, and Vermont Law School, where he served as Senior Articles Editor of the Vermont Law Review. Since 2009, James served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Albert H. Masland of the Court of Common Pleas of Cumberland County. James was an avid reader and sports fan, and enjoyed hiking, spending time with his family and dog Sophie, and taking his nephews fishing at the lake. Consistent with his love for the outdoors and the environment, James volunteered his time with the LeTort Regional Authority, serving as Vice President.

Surviving are his father and mother, Mark and Shirley Ruhl, sisters Katharine (Geoff) Huntington and Christina (Dan) Stringer, nephews Dylan and Jamie, and niece Molly.
He will be remembered by his family and members of the bar association at a memorial on Friday, November 15, 2019. A private memorial will be held by his family on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
