Helen (Jones) and James R. Carpenter Sr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Nov. 10 at the Plainfield Fire Hall. The couple was married Nov. 15, 1952, in Westminster, Md.
James was employed by Exxon for 33 years and is a farmer. Helen worked for Carlisle Tire and Rubber for a short time and was a dairy farmer for most of her life.The couple still resides on their farm with sheep and miniature donkeys.
The party was hosted by their children and grandchildren: son, James Carpenter Jr. and wife, Connie of Carlisle; daughter Nancy of Carlisle; daughter, Donna Bertolini and husband Douglas of Fort Collins, Colo.; granddaughter Mallory Bertolini of Yuma, Ariz.; grandsons James Bertolini of Boston, Mass.,; Justin Carpenter and wife Lori of Carlisle; Derrick Carpenter and wife Dessie of Martinsburg; and great-granddaughter, Justina Carpenter.
