Christian Life Assembly’s “Easter Celebration 2019: The Last Word” will continue this weekend with four more showings at the church at 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill.
More than 400 volunteers are behind the show that started last weekend. The Broadway-style dramatic musical includes volunteer set builders and designers, as well as costuming, props and set dressing, stage crew, audio, lighting and animals.
“We believe that everyone has unique giftings and talents,” said Pastor Dan Baker, CLA’s dramatic arts pastor. “It is an honor to work alongside this dedicated, multigenerational team of volunteers. We are one team with one goal – reaching our community with the love of Christ.”
“The Last Word” is set in biblical times, but centers around modern-day questions.
“It is the story of how ordinary people – who cried out in their pain or failure – had an encounter with Jesus and received more than they could have imagined,” Baker said in a news release. “As Christians, we believe that today’s challenges will not have the last word.”
There are 100 actors, singers and dancers in the show, with live animals on a full-stage set. This is the 32nd year CLA has produced dramatic musicals, with its Christmas Wonderland production held every year and Easter Celebration musical held every other year.
Performances of “The Last Word” will be at 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students ages 5 to 18. Tickets can be ordered online at claproductions.com or by calling the ticket office at 717-737-1887.
