The Ann Miller Players, Boiling Springs High School’s Drama Club, is happy to announce their Spring Musical, PHANTOM.
PHANTOM, by Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit and based on the 1910 horror story novel by Gaston Leroux, followed the success of their Tony Award-winning musical NINE. It followed the screenplay The Phantom of the Opera written by Arthur Kopit for the NBC 1990 miniseries starring Charles Dance, Teri Polo, and Burt Lancaster, which featured only opera music. Kopit aimed to write a more sympathetic Phantom character than the original novel, and Yeston’s music reflects the romance of Parisian operetta of the 1890s. Though differing from its Broadway/Webber counterpart, PHANTOM has been a popular and successful regional hit with over one thousand of productions since 1991.
Director-Choreographer Elizabeth Angelozzi and Musical Director Art Thompson bring us an exciting love story with a cast including leads Emma Holt, Connor Biss, and Matthew Blanchard as the Phantom. Many talented students, including Julia Voyak as Carlotta, Damian Dimopoulos, Chad Essig, Mateo Diaz, and Tyler Blanchard among others, round out the company to enchant you with the melodie of Paris.
Performances will be March 8rd – 11th, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7pm, Sunday at 1:30pm. Tickets will be available at the door for $9, Students and Seniors $6.
