NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Borough Council of the Borough of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, of
its intention to consider for adoption, and to vote upon enactment of, the Ordinance printed in full below, at its
regularly scheduled meeting to be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 7:00 p.m., in Borough Hall at the Carlisle
Borough Municipal Building, 53 W. South St, Carlisle, Pennsylvania, or at another public meeting at that location not
less than 10 nor more than 30 days following publication of this notice. An ordinance providing for a temporary
parking ban between certain hours on certain days between the months of May through October 2021, on certain
streets in the vicinity of the Carlisle fairgrounds.

WHEREAS, the Borough Council has undertaken a thorough review of the parking and associated problems caused by the large crowds attending the scheduled events at the Carlisle Fairgrounds; and
WHEREAS, after completing its review, Borough Council believes it to be in the best interest of the health,
welfare, and safety of the residents living in the area adjacent to the Fairgrounds to take appropriate action to limit the
vehicular traffic congestion in the area; and
WHEREAS. Section 244-3 [Temporary and emergency regulations] of Article I [General Provisions] of
Chapter 244 [Vehicles and Traffic] of the Code of the Borough of Carlisle provides, in Subsection C thereof, for the
imposition of temporary parking bans, by resolution or ordinance, with posting of temporary “No Parking” signs in the
affected areas 24 hours in advance of the period of such bans, and provides for procedures, costs, and penalties in
connection with violations of such bans.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Borough Council of the Borough
of Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, as follows:
SECTION 1: Pursuant to Subsection C of Section 244-3 [Temporary and emergency regulations of Article
I [General Provisions] of Chapter 244 [Vehicles and Traffic] of the Code of the Borough of Carlisle, no person shall park
a vehicle, or allow a vehicle to remain parked, upon any of the streets set forth hereafter, between the hours of 8:00
A.M. and 8:00 P.M. on the days of Wednesday, June 23 through and including Saturday, June 26, 2021, and Wednesday, September 29, 2021, through and including Saturday, October 2, 2021:

park a vehicle, or allow a vehicle to remain parked, upon any of the streets set forth hereafter, between the hours of
8:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. on the following days: the days of Friday, May 14, 2021, through and including Saturday, May
15, 2021; the days of Friday, June 4, 2021 through and including Saturday, June 5, 2021; the days of Friday, June 25,
2021 through and including Saturday, June 26, 2021; the days of Friday, July 9, 2021 through and including Saturday,
July 11, 2021; the days of Friday, August 6, 2021, through and including Saturday, August 7, 2021; the days of Friday,
August 27, 2021, through and including Saturday, August 28, 2021, and the days of Friday, October 1, 2021 through
and including Saturday, October 2, 2021. Further, no person shall park a vehicle, or allow a vehicle to remain parked,
upon the streets set forth hereafter, between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. on the days of Sunday, May 16,
2021, Sunday, June 6, 2021, Sunday, July 10, 2021, Sunday, August 8, 2021, Sunday, August 29, 2021 and Sunday,
October 3, 2021.

SECTION 4: Procedures, costs and penalties applicable to violations of the temporary parking ban
contained herein shall be as set forth in Section 244-3 (C) of Article I of Chapter 244 of the Code of the Borough of
Carlisle.
The Council meeting on May 13, 2021 will be conducted in person and virtually using Zoom. Town Hall will be limited
