HARRISBURG — Yadiel Hernandez hit a walk-off two-run homer with two outs in the ninth inning, as the Harrisburg Senators beat the Akron RubberDucks 6-5 on Wednesday.
One batter earlier, Dan Gamache singled, scoring Khayyan Norfork to cut the Akron lead to 5-4.
After Akron's Tyler Krieger hit a three-run double in the top of the eighth, Harrisburg cut the deficit to 5-3 with three runs in the bottom of the inning, including a single by Drew Ward that scored Jose Marmolejos.
Starters Taylor Hill and Shane Bieber both pitched gems in a classic pitchers' duel. Hill allowed two runs and seven hits over seven innings. He also struck out nine and walked one. Bieber struck out eight and walked one while allowing four hits over seven scoreless innings.
Derek Self (4-2) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Jordan Milbrath (2-2) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
Greg Allen doubled and singled, also stealing a base for the RubberDucks.
