ALTOONA — Will Craig hit a three-run, inside-the-park home run in the seventh inning, leading the Altoona Curve to a 4-3 win over the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday.
Geoff Hartlieb allowed a run, but got Daniel Johnson to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his second save of the season.
The home run by Craig scored Cole Tucker and Stephen Alemais to give the Curve a 4-2 lead.
In the top of the ninth, Harrisburg cut into the deficit on a forceout that scored Yadiel Hernandez.
Logan Sendelbach (1-0) got the win in relief while Kaleb Fleck (1-1) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
Altoona struck first when Stephen Alemais hit a sacrifice fly off Senators starter Wirkin Estevez to put the club ahead 1-0 in the opening frame.
That lead was short lived as the Senators tied the game in the top of the second. With Kelvin Gutierrez at second after a single and a walk, catcher Christian Kelley, in an attempt to pick-off Hernandez from first, threw the ball past first baseman Craig and down the line, allowing Gutierrez to score and tie the game 1-1.
Estevez received a no-decision after allowing just the lone run along with four hits while striking out four across his five innings.
The Senators and Curve wrap up the series Wednesday night at 6. Brady Dragmire takes the hill for the Senators against Altoona starter JT Brubaker.
