HARRISBURG — Victor Robles scored on an error in the first inning to help the Harrisburg Senators secure a 5-4 victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Thursday. With the victory, the Senators swept the three-game series.
The error, part of a two-run inning, gave the Senators a 1-0 lead before Drew Ward hit an RBI single later in the inning.
The Senators later added two runs in the second and one in the fourth. In the second, Corban Joseph and Dan Gamache both drove in a run, while Gamache hit an RBI single in the fourth.
Richmond saw its comeback attempt come up short after Caleb Gindl hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to cut the Harrisburg lead to 5-4.
Harrisburg starter Brady Dragmire (3-1) picked up the win despite allowing three runs and seven hits over five innings. Opposing starter Cory Taylor (4-10) took the loss in the Eastern League game after giving up five runs and 11 hits over five innings. Andrew Robinson recorded his 10th save of the season.
For the Flying Squirrels, K.C. Hobson homered and singled. Jerry Sands had a pair of hits.
