HARTFORD, Conn. — The Hartford Yard Goats completed the three-game sweep with their 11-9 win over the Harrisburg Senators Sunday afternoon at Dunkin’ Donuts Park. Yadiel Hernandez drove in a career-high five RBI but Hartford rallied for four runs in the eighth to capture the comeback win.

The Senators struck first for three runs in the first against Yard Goats starter Parker French. After singles from Daniel Johnson and Jacob Wilson, Yadiel Hernandez hit a three-run home run, his first of the season, to put the Senators in front 3-0.

Johnson added a run in the second by launching a 1-2 pitch from French over the fight field wall for his first Double-A home run, making it 4-0 Senators.

Hartford came back for three runs in the second off Senators starter Brady Dragmire to cut the lead to one. A pair of runs scored on RBI hits from Garrett Hampson and Brendan Rodgers while French scored another run on a wild pitch.

The Senators expanded their advantage with three more runs in the fourth. Johnson doubled in Osvaldo Abreu to start the scoring, and later in the inning, with two men on, Yadiel Hernandez singled on a ball that hit first base, which allowed two more runs to score in the inning,

All seven runs were charged to French who also allowed seven hits and walked five in three and two-thirds innings.

With the Senators ahead 7-3, the Yard Goats cut the lead back to just a run with back-to-back home runs in the fourth from Rodgers, who hit a two-run shot, and Mundell, who knocked a solo blast.

Dragmire took a no-decision after surrendering six runs on nine hits over four and two thirds innings.

The Senators created separation in the sixth. After a pair of Hartford pitchers loaded the bases on three walks, Jake Lowery knocked a single to center to plate a pair and give the Senators a 9-6 lead.

Hartford fought back for a run in the bottom of the frame when Wes Rogers grounded into a run-scoring fielder’s choice.
