HARRISBURG — Jefry Rodriguez tossed 6.2 scoreless innings, leading the Harrisburg Senators over the Bowie Baysox in a 5-1 win on Friday.
Rodriguez (1-1) picked up the win after he struck out four and walked two while allowing four hits.
Harrisburg started the scoring in the second inning. After hitting a single, Kelvin Gutierrez stole second and then scored on a single by Khayyan Norfork.
After Harrisburg added two runs, the Baysox cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Austin Hays hit an RBI single, scoring Cedric Mullins.
The Senators later tacked on two runs in the eighth when Norfork hit an RBI single and then scored on a wild pitch to secure the victory.
Keegan Akin (0-2) went five innings, allowing three runs and eight hits in the Eastern League game. He also struck out one and walked four.
