Senators down Flying Squirrels
HARRISBURG (AP) — Khayyan Norfork scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning, leading the Harrisburg Senators to a 4-3 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday.
Norfork scored on the play in the seventh after he led off the inning with a double and advanced to third on an out.
Dakota Bacus struck Jerry Sands out with runners on first and third to end the game for his first save of the season.
Sands hit an RBI single, bringing home Caleb Gindl in the first inning to give the Flying Squirrels a 1-0 lead. The Senators came back to take a 2-1 lead in minutes later when Jose Marmolejos hit an RBI single and then scored on an error.
Richmond regained the lead 3-2 after it scored two runs in the fifth inning on a two-run double by Aramis Garcia.
Harrisburg tied the game 3-3 in the sixth when Dan Gamache hit an RBI single, scoring Marmolejos.
Tim Collins (1-1) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Richmond starter Tyler Herb (1-2) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
Garcia doubled twice, driving in two runs for the Flying Squirrels. Sands singled twice, scoring a run and also driving one home.
