HARRISBURG — Kelvin Gutierrez scored the winning run on an error with one out in the 10th inning, as the Harrisburg Senators defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 9-8 on Thursday.
Gutierrez scored the game-winning run after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a flyout.
The Fisher Cats tied the game 8-8 in the top of the ninth when Cavan Biggio hit a two-run home run as part of a three-run inning.
Reliever Derek Self (1-0) picked up the win after he pitched one scoreless inning. Justin Shafer (1-2) allowed one run and got one out in the Eastern League game.
Yadiel Hernandez homered and singled, scoring two runs in the win. Juan Soto homered and doubled, driving in four runs and scoring a pair.
Harrisburg took advantage of some erratic New Hampshire pitching, drawing a season-high 11 walks in its victory.
In the losing effort, Vladimir Guerrero, Harold Ramirez and Gunnar Heidt each had three hits for New Hampshire. The Fisher Cats also recorded a season-high 17 base hits.
