HARRISBURG — The Senators split a twin bill with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Sunday afternoon at FNB Field. The Fisher Cats won game one 6-1 and Yadiel Hernandez's walk-off single gave the Senators the 2-1 win in game two.
New Hampshire opened the scoring in game one when Cavan Biggio hit a two-run home run to right to put the team up 1-0.
The Senators scored their lone run in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Yadiel Hernandez against Fisher Cat starter Sean Reid-Foley.
Senators starter Logan Darnell (2-1) took the loss despite allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out seven across five innings.
The Senators stranded seven players on base over the first three innings and 11 overall as they were unable to score the rest of the way.
New Hampshire broke the game open with four runs on four hits in the top of the seventh, highlighted by a RBI triple by Max Pentecost, as the club took a 6-1 lead which would be the final score.
Jose Fernandez (3-0) earned the win with two scoreless innings of relief.
Jake Lowery put the Senators in front in game two with a solo home run to left, his third of the season.
Senators starter Brady Dragmire shutout New Hampshire through the first five frames including retiring 12 in a row between the first and fifth, however the Fisher Cats tied the game in the sixth. After back-to-back walks and a single loaded the bases to start the inning, Cavan Biggio hit a sacrifice fly to center to knot the game at 1-1.
Dragmire went five innings and allowed one run on three hits while tying a career high with seven strike outs.
The game remained tied until the bottom of the seventh. With Khayyan Norfork at second base after reaching on a lead-off walk, Yadiel Hernandez hit a line drive into center field for a walk-off single to give the Senators the 2-1 victory.
Roman Mendez picked up the win with a perfect inning of relief while Dusty Isaacs (2-1) suffered the loss after allowing the winning run in his lone inning.
