ERIE — Dan Gamache hit an RBI single in the top of the 11th inning to help lead the Harrisburg Senators to a 5-3 win over the Erie SeaWolves on Monday. With the victory, the Senators snapped a five-game losing streak.
Yadiel Hernandez scored the go-ahead run on the single after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, Harrisburg added an insurance run when Gamache scored on a wild pitch.
Derek Self got Kenny Wilson to fly out with a runner on second to end the game for his second save of the season.
The Senators scored one run in the 10th before Erie answered in the bottom of the inning when A.J. Simcox scored on a wild pitch to tie the game 3-3.
Starters Wirkin Estevez and Sandy Baez turned in great performances for Harrisburg and Erie, respectively. Estevez went six innings, allowing two runs and three hits. He also struck out six and walked two. Baez went six innings, allowing two runs and three hits. He also struck out six and walked four.
Jeff Ames (1-0) got the win in relief while Gerson Moreno (0-1) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
