Carly Kissinger and Caitlin Rhoades both scored unassisted goals to send Cumberland Valley to the quarterfinals of the District 3-AAA field hockey tournament tournament via a 2-1 win over Cocalico Tuesday night at Governor Mifflin.
Goalkeeper Kelly Weaver had seven saves for the night. The Eagles will take on Penn Mannor at Hershey H.S on Saturday, 1.
Donegal 3, Big Spring 2
The Indians’ Kristen Gochnauer scored with 1:01 showing on the clock at Central York to slip past the Bulldogs in District 3-AA action.
Lydia George and Jade Etter each staked Big Spring to a one-goal lead in the first half, but Donegal bounced back each time to tie it, sending the game into the half in a 2-2 draw.
Jordan Yaukey stopped 10 shots for Big Spring, which also faced 20 penalty corners.
The Bulldogs’ season ends at 16-3.
Lancaster Mennonite 4, West Perry 1
The Mustangs fell in the first round of District 3-AA play against Lancaster Mennonite.
Brooke Birosik scored the lone goal unassisted in the first half. Goalkeeper Rebecca Gabert had nine saves for the night.
West Perry ends the season 12-3-2.
