Shippensburg men's basketball player Dustin Sleva was named to the 2018 CCA All-Atlantic Region Men’s Basketball First Team squad. Sleva broke his own single-season record for points (688), a total that ranks 15th in PSAC single-season history. He averaged 21.5 points and 10.9 rebounds per game this season.
Shippensburg catcher Drew Bene was named the PSAC Eastern Division Athlete of the Week on Monday. In a doubleheader sweep of Jefferson over the weekend, Bene reached base in nine of his 10 plate appearances, going 7-for-8 (.875) at the plate with a home run, double, four RBIs, two walks and four runs scored.
Shippensburg's Zack Sims was named the PSAC Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week. In a Game 1 shutout of Jefferson over the weekend, Sims threw six shutout innings and allowed just one single and one walk while striking out six. He retired the final 13 batters he faced and did not a runner past first base in his outing.
Shippensburg's Tara Bicko was named the PSAC Eastern Division Softball Athlete of the Week. Bicko had at least one hit in all five games over the weekend for the Raiders, who posted a 4-1 record at the West Virginia Wesleyan Tournament. Bicko was 10-for-15 (.667 average) at the plate and also drew four walks for a .737 on-base percentage.
Shippensburg's Chloe Collins was named the PSAC Eastern Division Softball Pitcher of the Week. In a 2-1 victory over Winston-Salem State at the West Virginia Wesleyan Tournament, Collins threw eight innings and allowed a lone unearned run on four hits. She struck out eight batters and allowed just one extra-base hit in the game.
