Dickinson scored twice in a four-minute span in the second half, blanking Bryn Mawr 2-0 in women's soccer Wednesday afternoon on the road. Rachel Lazris broke the scoreless tie in the 62nd minute, then Addy Zandi found the back of the net in the 66th. The Red Devils (9-4-1, 3-3-1 Centennial Conference) outshot the winless Owls 23-2, with Mary Katherine Brosnan stopping both shots.
Scranton needed the full five games to get past Dickinson 3-2 in women's volleyball at the Kline Center. The Royals (24-2) needed to win the last two games 25-19 and 15-10 to avoid the upset by the Red Devils (8-13). Norma Jean Park had a match-high 11 kills and was in on seven blocks for Dickinson.
Messiah men's soccer cruised to a 4-0 victory over Arcadia, picking up goals from Nick West, Danny Brandt, Brit Haseltine and Zeb Cross. West also added an assist for the Falcons (12-1, 3-0 MAC Commonwealth).
Before her hat trick led Messiah field hockey to a 4-0 victory over Shippensburg, Carissa Gehman was named Division III Offensive Player of the Week by the NFHCA. She racked up 15 points on seven goals and an assist in two wins for the No. 1-ranked Falcons.
Penn State-Mont Alto golfer Dayne Conner earned USCAA All-Academic honors with a 4.0 GPA this season. Conner, a senior, is a Big Spring graduate.
