Dickinson women's lacrosse downed Haverford 17-12 in the Centennial Conference first round. Erika Bloes tallied six goals in the win, while Mack Mauer notched two goals and two assists. Dickinson moves on to play Washington & Jefferson in the semifinal at noon on Saturday.
The Shippensburg softball team ripped 14 hits in its PSAC Championships debut on Wednesday, but could not overcome a couple of big innings by Seton Hill, falling 10-7. Shippensburg will play IUP at noon Thursday in an elimination game.
Messiah women's lacrosse defeated No. 5 Stevenson in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals 10-4. Mckenna Edwards led Messiah with four goals, while Kendra Herbenar recorded four caused turnovers to bring her total on the year to 51, breaking the single-season program record of 47 that was co-held by Brianne Brennan in 2009 and Rachel Coyle in 2012. Messiah will play Lebanon Valley in the final on Saturday at a time to be determined.
Messiah men's tennis defeated Arcadia 5-1 in the MAC Commonwealth semifinals. No. 1 doubles Tim Dunn and Connor Graybeal started things off strong with a dominant 8-2 win over their opponents. Andrew Bookman and Keller Martin (No. 3 doubles) were close behind with an 8-3 victory. Connor Graybeal (No. 3) was able to pick up an early 6-1, 6-1 win for the Falcons and Bryson Boettger soon finished with a 6-1, 6-3 win to give Messiah their fourth victory of the day. Tim Dunn sealed Messiah's victory with a 6-2, 6-1 win. Messiah will play Lebanon Valley on Saturday at a time to be determined.
