Dickinson men's golf jumped into a tie for second after Round 1 of the Centennial Conference Championship on Friday. The Red Devils, tied with McDaniel, trail Franklin & Marshall (286) by 13 strokes. Sophomore Charlie Zane sits in second on the individual leaderboard after he shot a 71 in the first of three rounds this weekend at Conestoga Country Club. Trinity grad Ethan Murphy is tied for 19th (78) for Gettysburg.
Dickinson baseball split with Franklin & Marshall in a doubleheader, winning the opener 12-0 before falling 9-2. Camp Hill's Robbie Thompson scored three runs and had two hits in the victory.
Sophomore Zack Sims threw a complete-game shutout for Shippensburg baseball in a 10-0 win over East Stroudsburg. The Raiders lost Game 1 of the doubleheader 2-0. Sims, who has a PSAC-leading eight wins, struck out 10 and allowed just four hits. Dalton Hoiles (two doubles), Grant Hoover and Cash Gladfelter all went 3-for-6 on the day.
Shippensburg softball swept Millersville in their doubleheader. In the opening 7-0 win, starter Taryn Wilson struck out 10 and allowed three hits, while catcher Macy Luck went 3-for-3 with a homer, four RBIs and two runs scored. Luck then had the game-winning single in Game 2, driving in a Shippensburg High School grad Courtney Coy in the bottom of the seventh in a 5-4 victory.
Boiling Springs product Hunter Breon went 3-for-4 at the plate and threw five innings to get the win in Penn State-Altoona's doubleheader sweep of Medaille. Breon doubled, drove in three and scored three while at bat.
