Cumberland Valley battled in another classic with rival Central Dauphin, winning 3-2 on Tuesday at home. No game was decided by more than seven points, and three of them were decided by just two points. Emma Grever filled the stat sheet with a CV-high 18 kills (tied with Hanna Cordle), six aces and two blocks. Kara Lehman quarterbacked the game well, dishing out five assists for the Eagles (3-0, 3-0 Commonwealth), who handed the Rams their first loss of the season.
Big Spring gave Northern all it could handle in a 3-2 loss Tuesday that needed an extra point in the decisive fifth game. Polar Bear Jenna Bittinger was all over the floor in the win, recording a double-double with a match-high 25 kills and 20 digs. Brynlee Brenneman dished out a game-high 41 assists on the night. Caroline Horst led the Bulldogs with 14 kills, adding two aces, two digs and a block.
West Perry's Alexis Morrow had nine kills and seven blocks to lead the Mustangs 3-2 past Boiling Springs in a road win.
In straight-set road wins, Trinity's Aiden Finegan had 11 kills, a block and an ace, while Cedar Cliff's Maggie Myers recorded eight kills.
Carlisle's Eiyanna Regis tallied nine kills in a straight-set loss to Chambersburg.
