Carlisle started off the season in style, sweeping visiting Northern 5-0 on Tuesday. It was a solid win for a squad that lost several key figures last year. The Thundering Herd won all five matchups in straight sets, with Anders Bergsten taking Singles 1 against Dylan Kraus 6-2, 6-1. The Doubles 2 pairing of Adnan Alagic and Sean Bergsten didn't drop a game against Anthony Reale and Sean Colgan.
The first local division victory belongs to East Pennsboro, which edged Trinity 3-2 in Mid-Penn Colonial play. Nate Stahlman battled back in Singles 1 for a 4-7, 7-5, 6-4 win over Mason Wagner. Jake Henry won in straight sets in S3, and Doubles 2 pair William Demaisip and Ethan Kesner also rallied from a first-set loss to pick up the third point for the Panthers.
Palmyra swept the three singles matches, handing Cedar Cliff its first loss of the season 3-2. The Colts got doubles wins from Sam Clark/Zeke Torres and from Yosh Patel/Alex Arensdorf. Both required three sets.
