Boiling Springs claimed its first win of the season Monday in walkoff fashion, edging Milton Hershey 8-7. The Bubblers (1-13, 0-9 Colonial) trailed 7-5 entering the home half of the seventh but immediately started a rally that loaded the bases with an out. Cora Fries, who would earn the win in the circle, then singled to right to score L uanne Narvett. After Megan Cornwell popped out on an infield fly, Maddie Darchicourt laced a single to right that scored Kaitlyn Walters and Hailey Martin to win it. Darchicourt went 2-for-3 on the day, while Narvett finished 3-for-4 with two runs.
Anna Renninger and Kaitlyn Peck combined to hold CD East bats to just three hits as Carlisle beat the Panthers 5-1. Renninger threw five innings, allowing an unearned run while striking out three. Peck, along with throwing two innings of relief, went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a triple and a run scored. Hanna Seburn went 2-for-4, scoring twice.
Cedar Cliff coughed up a one-run lead as State College claimed a 10-9 Mid-Penn Commonwealth victory in a continuation of a game started earlier this season. The Colts were homer happy, with Maya Capozzoli (1-for-1), Maddie Sitler (3-for-4) and Sarah Dietrich (3-for-4) all launching dingers. But the defense was not up to snuff as Avery Winchell took the loss in six innings of work, allowing seven runs (two unearned).
Sami Barmont (3-for-5) and Morgan Fetter (1-for-4) each went yard in Shippensburg's 19-6 road win over Red Land. It was Fetter's third three-run bomb in the last two games. Barmont finished with five RBIs and three runs. Emily Wenner (2-for-4) tripled, doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs.
