Basketball is my main love and focus. It has helped me through the best and worst times of my life.
Reality hit me in the last couple days as I thought about how our team is only guaranteed three games left for the rest of the season. I expected us to have more than that, but only time will tell. We still have a lot of aspirations so we hope to still be playing when March rolls around.
For the six seniors on our team, this is the last time we are all going to be playing together. I do not think the realization of that has hit all of us quite yet. We are so used to always being together because high school basketball is basically all year long with team camps, beach trips, tournaments, summer leagues and the regular season. It hasn’t fully crossed our minds that after our last game there will be no more of that.
Most of us on the team have played with each other in various sports since we were in elementary school or even younger. The idea of not being on the court or on the field together puts pain in our hearts, which is why we want this season to end on an amazing note.
We would love to make history and do the unexpected. We have the ability to achieve anything together and with a little more focus, execution and determination we can do just that. There is no better way of ending our senior season than by accomplishing all the goals we have set. Not saying this is definitely going to happen, but you best believe we are going to put everything we have into trying.
