East Pennsboro's Onasis Neely In My Words

Wow, how we turned our season around. Sitting at 3-2 and standing at that crossroads was a true turning point for us. We knew that the final five games of the season would be challenging, but somehow we managed to win five in a row. What a credit to my teammates and coaches for us pulling together and heading into the postseason our way. Man what an honor, and we earned it every play, every quarter and every down.

Boiling Springs played a great game. They fought hard to the final whistle. It feels great to finish the regular season the way we did. I’m very proud of the effort that we all put in during the offseason 7-on-7’s and just believing in each other that we could turn our season around.

This week our defense was clicking Trent Fries had a big pick 6 that swung the momentum. Defense kept pressure on the QB and got a few sacks. McGee got his first career varsity TD. You should have seen his face on the sideline. Hype doesn’t describe that feeling.

Our underclassmen were able to get some experience and playing time during the second half for it to be my last regular season game as a Panther. I’m glad to see the young guys getting some opportunities to prove why they should be on the field next season.

I’m glad I had the opportunity to play on a team with everybody playing for each other instead of with each other. When we give up a big play, we never get down on one another, we always pick each other up and encourage each other to make a play.

We are a close-knit team and I’m forever proud to be an East Pennsboro Panther. I’m not sure how this awesome season will end. One thing I do know is I played the game that I love with some guys that I will never forget, and we had the time of our lives doing it.
