For me, this week was all about recuperating and resetting after such a long season. With states being over I was able to relax a bit and catch up on my activities outside of school and running.
However, I am planning on competing in the Footlocker Northeast Regional on Nov. 25 in The Bronx, New York. If I place in the top 10 at this race, I will move on to Footlocker Nationals in California. I originally had planned to attend this meet just as a way to wrap up my senior season, but after having such a successful state meet, I am hoping to get top 10.
However, my top priority will be to enjoy my final race regardless of how it goes. Practice feels very different now that only three of us are still running. Self-motivation is more important now that there are fewer people around to encourage me at practice, but I’ve become accustomed to this type of training over the years.
This actually reminds me of how my season began. I ran by myself almost every day throughout the summer. In a way, I feel like my season is coming full circle.
