Thursday was the annual Bulldog Bash Invitational at Big Spring High School. This meet is always fun because there is a lot of good competition and we get to race some teams that are not on our meet schedule. Big Spring has a good pool, so it is a great opportunity to get some good times for the season and see where your training has brought you.
One of my favorite moments from the meet this year was the 200 freestyle relay. Last year at the same meet we lost to Bishop McDevitt by less than a second in that event. This year I think we all had that in our minds as we prepared for the race. Isaiah led off and gave us the early lead. Caleb Padgett held on for the second leg and handed it to my brother Nolan. Nolan kept it close and gave us a slight lead before I went in the pool. This year we had a lead on everyone and we broke the meet and pool record at Big Spring. This was a very exciting accomplishment for all of us. Seeing your name up on the record board is always cool to see.
This week we have two away meets, one at Chambersburg and the other at James Buchanan.
These are two away meets that are some long bus rides. It can lead to some late nights as school and homework start again this week. I still look forward to the meets and the time with my teammates on the bus and at the meets. It should be another good week of racing and swimming.
