Devon Chenot In My Words

These last two weeks have been unique to say the least.

First we had the Hershey meet which felt like a turning point for all of us. Then, the day after the meet, our practice pool at Dickinson had a mechanical issue, so we learned that we would not be able to use the pool for about two weeks. Since then, we have had to adjust to finding a way to practice and adjusting our meet schedule as well.

I think it has been a little different for all of us because at Carlisle we are lucky enough to have a pool to use for high school practices and meets. When that isn’t available, it makes you realize how good it is to be able to use Dickinson’s facilities.

The other teams we have left on our schedule have been very understanding and have been willing to move our home meets to their pools. The only trouble we have is the teams that also do not have a pool. We have several good meets coming up, so it is important that we stay focused on our goals.

I think this whole experience has been good to all of us as a team. This week we have three meets. Our meet on Tuesday is at Mifflin County. Our meet on Thursday is our Senior Night at Boiling Springs. We have another meet on Friday at Mechanicsburg. I think we can continue our good swims this week and gather some momentum as we move toward Mid-Penns.
