Last week was our dual meet with Hershey. It was a great meet on both sides. There was a lot of team spirit and cheering from everyone.
I think we came together well as a team and made a great all-around effort.
The boys meet was close and came down to the last few races. I was proud of our guys for stepping up and encouraging each other throughout the meet. The girls didn’t have the depth that Hershey did, but they stayed positive for the entire meet and had some great races. It was good to have our divers along for the meet and see them compete. I think we all learned something about being a team during the Hershey meet and I think it will carry us throughout the rest of the season.
I always admired teams when I was an independent swimmer because of the friendship and fun they had. I have that now and I’m grateful that I get to share some fun memories with my teammates every day.
This week we have two meets, one against Central Dauphin East and one against Mechanicsburg. This is the time of year when teams start to swim fast and look toward Mid-Penns. As we begin these crucial weeks of the season, I think this team is ready for the challenges that will come and I know people will step up when needed.
I’m excited to see what we have left for this team.
