Basketball season is unique in a number of ways compared to other school sports, but one specific way is the amount of games we play in such a short period of time.
This can be harmful to your team when you have injuries as there just isn’t quite enough time to recover, and before you know it, you’ve missed a few important games.
This uniqueness can also be beneficial, especially when bouncing back from a loss. But because we play so frequently you rarely have time to sit and dwell on a loss because the next day at practice you are beginning to prepare for your next opponent. After being blown out at home this week by Greencastle-Antrim, we had to do that exactly.
We put the loss behind us knowing we can only control the future and had a hard week of practice to prepare for our game against Bermudian Springs on Saturday. The focus paid off as we left Bermudian with a big victory, just what our team needed to regain confidence heading into an important week where we face two very solid league opponents and need to keep winning to stay on track.
