Shamrocks sophomore forward Riley Johnson received the Hobey Baker High School Character Award during the Shamrocks' end of the year banquet recently.
The award is given to a player at participating schools that best exemplifies integrity and positive attitude, coachability, outstanding sportsmanship and community spirit, according to the Hobey Baker website.
"I am so proud and honored to receive that award," Johnson said. "It means to me that I am able to compete with some of the best kids in the league because there are some great players in the whole CPIHL. It was truly an honor."
This season Johnson ended up second in points with 75 and first in goals with 46 in the CPIHL's Tier 3 regular season. He ends his high school career with 85 goals, 41 assists and 126 points.
