• Carlisle couldn't hold onto a four-point halftime lead, falling to Kennard-Dale 62-58 in the championship game Saturday at the Big Spring Holiday Classic Tournament. Alexa Askins caught fire, finishing with 27 points on 11 field goals and 5-of-6 shooting from the free-throw line, but it ended up not being enough. The Rams pushed four into double digits. Carlisle (3-6) got 11 from Alecedys Clarke and 10 from Jesime Freet.
  • A much better performance at the free-throw line from a night ago sparked Big Spring's 52-39 win over James Buchanan in the consolation game. The Bulldogs, a night after going 4-of-10 from the charity stripe, finished 21-of-25. Paige Snyder was a solid 9-of-12, finishing with 15 points in the win. Madison Bishop also got hot from range, draining five 3-pointers to finish with a game-high 17 points.
